The Grief Support Ministry strives to extend comfort and healing to adult parishioners who have lost a loved one by personal connections through phone calls and mailed cards. Resource materials, including prayers and articles, are also sent via mail and a monthly digital Grief Support Newsletter. Volunteers are needed to help with writing cards, facilitate mailings and care for those who have lost a loved one. To inquire about volunteering or subscribe to the flocknote newsletter please contact the Ministry Coordinator Gini Collins ([email protected]).
Seasons of Hope is a 6-week small group session that the Grief Support Ministry facilities twice a year. All who have lost a loved one are invited to attend this unique program that focuses on the spiritual side of grieving through scripture, prayer, reflection and simple activities. The Mass of Remembrance is organized by the Grief Support Ministry to remember all who have died, but in particular those who have died in the previous 12 months. During this special Liturgy, the names of those who have passed are read aloud and the next of kin are offered a candle to use at home to remember their loved one.
